About

The Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) is one of the largest educational institutions in Norway, with approximately 17,000 students and 1,750 employees. HVL offers a diverse range of academic programs within health, engineering, maritime sciences, and natural sciences. The university is actively involved in several externally funded regional, national, and international research projects and is a partner in the Hydrogen Value Chain Research (HyValue) FME Centre.

Activities

The Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) serves as the regional coordinator of the H2CoVE project, facilitating collaboration between industry and educational institutions in the Vestland region to establish the H2 Vocational Excellence Network. Additionally, HVL leads Work Package 2, "Evaluation and Quality," ensuring high standards throughout all project phases. Actively engaged across all work packages, HVL evaluates current and future regional needs for hydrogen-related skills and ensures that educational offerings are aligned. HVL also takes responsibility for curriculum development, course design, study materials, course delivery, and teaching quality. A significant emphasis will be placed on raising public awareness of hydrogen's role in the context of the green energy transition.
