Ukrainian vocational and higher education structure does not at the moment cover any competencies and/or programmes directly related to hydrogen technologies. The existing hydrogen competencies are instead maintained and/or constructed by staff with mainly field training.
At the same time, there are a number of initiatives which may lead to the growth of hydrogen-related technologies in the western part of Ukraine: injection of hydrogen into gas grids, use of hydrogen for transport, production and storage of green hydrogen, etc. Draft of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional energy program for 2022-2027 includes the hydrogen-related technologies among the options for alternative energy production and supply.
The experience gained in this project is therefore highly needed by regional companies and subsequently higher education institutions and VET institutions. The project outcomes will be directly disseminated among at least 10 local companies, 3 authorities and 5 HE- and VET institutions.
