From Vision to Implementation

The Hydrogen Centres of Vocational Excellence translate their vision into action through coordinated partnerships, continuous innovation, and measurable results. Our mission connects people, institutions, and industries - creating a European framework for vocational excellence in the hydrogen economy.

Our Vision

Our vision is to play a leading role in Europe’s energy transition by ensuring that individuals and organisations have access to the vocational education and skills required to support the hydrogen economy. Hydrogen is expected to be a key driver of Europe’s decarbonisation strategy, and we are committed to preparing the workforce to meet the demands of this evolving sector.

We aim to create a future where:

  • Vocational training in hydrogen technologies is widely accessible, enabling both students and professionals to engage confidently with hydrogen technologies across multiple industries.

  • Industry and education are closely aligned, ensuring that businesses benefit from a skilled workforce that contributes to innovation, productivity, and sustainability.

  • Innovation is fostered through research and collaboration, integrating the latest advances in hydrogen production, storage, and application into training programmes.

  • Sustainability is at the forefront of development, supporting Europe’s long-term goals to reduce carbon emissions and increase the use of clean energy sources.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide practical and relevant vocational education that equips learners with the skills necessary for the hydrogen sector.
We achieve this through a hands-on approach that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, ensuring that learners are prepared for real-world challenges in the hydrogen economy.

Our approach is guided by four key principles:

  • Collaboration Building strong partnerships between education, research, and industry to ensure that vocational training meets actual labour market needs.

  • Relevance Aligning training content with emerging technologies and industry trends to keep Europe’s hydrogen workforce competitive.

  • Innovation Incorporating state-of-the-art knowledge, research insights, and best practices from across Europe and beyond.

  • Sustainability Embedding environmental responsibility and long-term thinking into every level of training and professional development.
