In March 2025, we proudly marked the first anniversary of the H2CoVE (Hydrogen Centres of Vocational Excellence) project — a collaborative initiative shaping the future of skills and training for the hydrogen economy.
H2CoVE Project - One Year of Prgress
Our mission is twofold:
-
To design and deliver high-quality courses and training programmes tailored to the evolving needs of the hydrogen sector.
-
To establish a vocational excellence network, bringing together businesses, education and research institutions, and other key stakeholders for knowledge exchange and innovation.
Over the past year, we have:
-
Built a professional project organisation with shared responsibilities across all partners.
-
Established strong structures for reporting, quality assurance, evaluation, and communication.
-
Mapped existing skills, career pathways, and training programmes across regions to ensure that future activities meet real industry needs.
-
Initiated vital ecosystem talks across Europe to present our early findings and gather insights from stakeholders.
Looking ahead, 2025 will mark the start of the challenging yet exciting phase of creating the actual courses and training programmes. The data collected so far, combined with ongoing dialogue with stakeholders, will be crucial in shaping courses that address the most urgent priorities of the hydrogen sector in the coming years.
An important focus will also be on engaging a broad range of stakeholders, including students, young people, and those currently outside the workforce — groups that are vital to the future hydrogen economy. Ensuring that courses and materials are accessible, relevant, and inclusive will be key, and effective communication will play a central role.
Our commitment to quality is at the core of the project. We will continue working closely with the hydrogen sector and conducting internal evaluations to ensure that we deliver impactful, future-proof results. Follow us on this exciting journey as we help build the skills for the hydrogen economy of tomorrow!
