The hydrogen sector is evolving rapidly, creating a growing demand for highly qualified professionals. To support workforce development and shape competence policies at the regional, national, and European levels, partners from five European regions have joined forces through the H2CoVE project.

As part of this collaborative effort, the Norwegian project partners are undertaking a comprehensive national survey and interview campaign to assess both current and anticipated competence needs within the Norwegian hydrogen industry. This qualitative data will be further supported by statistical analyses of the hydrogen labour market, using datasets from NAV and Statistics Norway. Together, these data sources will offer a nuanced picture of skill requirements, workforce dynamics, and emerging regional trends across Norway. The findings will not only update and expand existing analyses but also enable comparative insights with hydrogen sector developments in other European countries.

Key results from the study will be presented at a dedicated workshop, hosted by the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences in Bergen on May 8, 2025. The workshop will be held in English and livestreamed for remote participants. Click here to view the full agenda and join the event live via Zoom
